Artist's Comments

I don't actually know what this is. It's heavy and metal, probably a bronze alloy. It has a pretty reddish brown tint to it. The turbine part rotates and moves the first gear, each gear rotates another. The farthest gear bearly seems to move at all. Whatever it is it's fascinating. I've been wanting to draw it and I finally did.
Yes I'm crazy. That's alot of gears and teeth...

***Edit: So I found out from my brother that this is some sort of old water meter. It seems my Grandpa told him that our Great-Grandfather worked with plumbing bronze fixtures and the like.***

Don't forget about the ever popular whatchamacallit. Haha, it's great being an engineer and using "techincal" terms like that. I really don't know what it is but I know I like it.

Thanks for the fav and comment. I appreciate it and I know what you mean about the poetry in gear mechanisms. I like to watch the gears spin each other. It's fascinating even though gears aren't really a spetacular technology. Maybe it's just the engineer in me.
